SUMMARY:Meet the Artists\, the 5th Grade Prairie View Elementary Students
DESCRIPTION:The February Art Display at Elmaro is by the 5th grade students at Prairie View Elementary in Holmen\, WI\, and it’s all about “Wildlife Art.” These tempera paintings were originally inspired by a student selected photograph. Students first drew the image through using a “gridding” technique. This helps the artist focus on line\, shape\, size\, proportion\, and placement of objects in the photograph. In painting\, students learned a variety of skills; such as color mixing\, overlapping\, and ways of working with different brushes and sponges to create texture. Some artists worked further into their piece with colored pencils for details\, outlining\, and / or textures.Meet the 5th grade students at their Meet and Greet on February 23rd from 1-4 p.m.
