DESCRIPTION:Local author Jon Steffes will talk about how and why he wrote his books\, where he got the information\, read a chapter from “Wings in the Wind”\, and show a short documentary about the Armistice Day Storm.\nJon Steffes is an elementary teacher and author who grew up in Winona\, but now lives in La Crescent\, Minnesota. When not writing and teaching\, Jon enjoys hunting\, fishing\, and going boating on the Mississippi River with his family. Jon has written six books. His books are Dirty Hands\, Wings in the Wind: The Armistice Day Blizzard of 1940\, Drawing Trouble\, 45 Days\, Nature Boy\, and Unsung Heroes: The Flood of 2007. Wings in the Wind has been featured on the outdoor television shows\, Due North Outdoors\, and Minnesota Bound\, as well as multiple waterfowl hunting podcasts. All his books are fiction or historical fiction and provide some great outdoor adventures.\nNo fee or registration.
